WhatsApp allows users to share photos and videos in HD resolution in status

Now, WABetaInfo has informed that the company is planning to expand HD quality support to the status section as well, and according to the report, WhatsApp is working on the ability to share high-quality photos and videos in its status on the platform.

The report states that the beta version of WhatsApp for Android version 2.23.26.3 has now received high-resolution support in status, as the status section in WhatsApp now contains a dedicated high-resolution icon, similar to the high-resolution photo and video sharing icon that we see in WhatsApp.

Clicking on it allows users to select high-resolution images and videos and share them as their WhatsApp status. However, people were struggling with low-resolution images and video support for the status. There was also a workaround where users could send high-resolution images or videos of themselves and then forward them. To update the status, however, this was not reliable.

With HD support being introduced within the status, users will have the option to choose whether they want to share the status in HD quality or not. It is also important to note that the feature is currently in beta and only available to selected beta testers.

If you want to try this feature, follow these steps:

- Open Google Play Store and search WhatsApp

- Scroll down on the WhatsApp page and find the “Become a Beta Tester” section and press the “Join” button.

-Once you become a beta tester, wait for some time and then check if an update is available.

- Download the update to install the beta version of WhatsApp on your phone.
