Activision has finally revealed when Call of Duty fans will be able to access the mobile version of its spin -off battle royale game, Warzone.
She said that the game will arrive properly this spring after a period of limited release in certain regions. In fact, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will launch on the third day of spring, March 21, just over two years after Activision announced the free-to-play mobile title.
Two battle royale maps will be available initially: the original Warzone, Verdansk, and Rebirth Island. Verdansk supports up to 120 players across iOS and Android, and if you are eliminated, you will get another chance to join the battle if you win a duel in the labor camps. Rebirth Island is a smaller map that hosts Maximum 48 players. Instead of heading to a gulag after death, you'll respawn as long as one of your teammates is still alive.
Many of the classic CoD multiplayer modes will be available in Warzone Mobile as well, and you'll be able to jump into the likes of Team Deathmatch, Dominating, Kill Confirmed, and Search & Destroy in maps including Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard.
Short multiplayer rounds can help you level up your weapon or increase your overall level when you have a few minutes remaining, and progress is shared between Warzone Mobile and the console and PC versions of Modern Warfare III and Warzone, as long as you're signed in with the same Activision ID.
The XP you earn in Warzone Mobile will be reflected in Warzone and Modern Warfare III and vice versa. The same goes for weapon leveling and battle pass progression.
With the exception of a few exclusive packs, most unlocked cosmetic items and equipment will be available in all three games. If you see an “Online” mark on a bundle in the Warzone Mobile Store, this means that these items will also be available in Modern Warfare III and Warzone if you purchase them.
And you'll have access to your shared friends list and chat channels so you can play with your friends and stay in touch with them. Warzone Mobile supports nearby voice chat, so you can hear the noise of nearby enemies.
After you're eliminated, you'll be able to hear their final words through the Death Chat feature as well.
Activision says Warzone Mobile is highly customizable, and you'll be able to move controller inputs around the screen and modify other parts of the user interface to your liking.
You can choose from several graphics modes to focus on performance, resolution, or a combination of the two, and there's controller support too.
There's clearly a lot of interest in Warzone Mobile, and Activision says the game has more than 50 million pre-registrations, and if you pre-register, you'll get some rewards, like a Ghost operator skin, weapon blueprints, vinyl, and logo.
