Introducing a new PlayStation controller whose battery lasts 12 hours

The PlayStation maker is launching an updated PlayStation 5 console available soon, as the GamesRadar+ website discovered a brand new V2 DualSense wireless controller in the Canadian online store Best Buy, and the device was listed as having a battery life of up to 12 hours, compared to a battery life of up to 12 hours. Maximum five hours in its current version, according to engadget report.

Aside from the significant boost in battery life, the included V2 DualSense wireless controller is a reflection of its predecessor.

It has a headphone jack, a built-in microphone, and haptic triggers across the back and face, and is listed at $90 CAD (about $67 USD), which is almost identical to the $69 retail price of the previously released V2 DualSense wireless controller.

Although the 12-hour model is visible on the website, it is not physically available for purchase, so it is not clear when the company will launch it.

Interestingly, the patent filed by the company in November 2023 describes a new controller with a touch screen instead of a touchpad.

It will also likely use predictive AI assistance to light up certain buttons, analog sticks, and shoulder triggers as gameplay cues, just like the existing controller.
