Apple names Taylor Swift as Apple Music Artist of the Year

Apple announced that international singer Taylor Swift is Artist of the Year for 2023 on Apple Music, after 65 of her songs reached the list of the top 100 songs in the world daily on Apple Music, more than any other artist, during the first ten months of 2023 . According to a press release.
“I am so honored to be Apple Music Artist of the Year,” Swift said. “Thank you to each and every one of you for making this the most wonderful, joyful and festive year ever.”
As Apple Music Artist of the Year, Swift will also receive a physical award, with each Apple Music trophy featuring a custom Apple silicon chip suspended between a frosted glass panel and an anodized aluminum body.
Apple Music is highlighting the app on the music and moments that defined Taylor Swift's Eras era — an event that swept the culture so much that it turned songs from its past into some of the biggest hits of the year.
Listeners can listen to a collection of radio shows celebrating Swift's two decades of album stories, as well as interviews, album compilations and playlists showcasing the singer-songwriter's groundbreaking journey.
"Cruel Summer," from Swift's 2019 album Lover, has become one of the biggest songs of the summer on Apple Music worldwide.
The song returned to the global daily top 100 in April for the first time in four years and has remained there ever since.
Swift's Midnights still stands as the biggest album ever by a female artist in Apple Music history by first-day and first-week streams worldwide.
Furthermore, Swift is the number one most-streamed artist in Apple Music's history, and is also the artist with the most songs to make it to Apple Music's global daily Top 100 songs list.
