EA announced its partnership with Middle-earth Enterprise to develop a new mobile game Lord of the Rings in 2022, however, the game studio did not confirm the launch date of the mobile game at that time, as a recent blog post by EA has now revealed the release date of the game. Once released, both iPhone and Android users will be able to download the mobile title, as playing “The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth” will be available in all countries except Belgium, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, eastern Ukraine (Donetsk and Luhansk), Crimea region of Ukraine and Russia and the People's Republic of China.
For Apple devices, the game will require iOS 13 and above. Users also need an iPhone 6s or above to play this game, meanwhile, Android users need a device powered by ARM Quad Core 1.6GHz or higher chipset. The device also needs to pack 2GB of RAM or higher and needs to be running Android OS 5.0 or higher to run this game.
EA previously confirmed that this game will offer, "immersive storytelling, turn-based combat, deep collecting systems, and an extensive roster of characters from across the vast universe of The Lords of the Rings and The Hobbit," and the main gameplay will involve players fighting through Popular Stories from Tolkien's World. Players must try to overcome the challenges they face from the villains of Middle-earth. This free-to-play game will include in-app purchases and players will need an active internet connection to play this title.
