Microsoft updates its emojis with new 3D designs

The software giant Microsoft has started updating more than 1,800 emoji in Microsoft Teams with new 3D emoji designs in Teams, the same design that Microsoft announced last year for Windows and Teams.
While Microsoft Teams gets new 3D emojis, the company only released 2D versions in Windows 11 and recently hinted that it's still working on 3D emojis for Windows.

Kaushal Mehta, a member of the Microsoft Teams engineering team, explains in a blog post: "Users will see a new way for most of the previous teams' emoji, and along with some new choices, all skintone-enabled emoji will continue to provide 6 skintone color options."

The new 3D emoji will appear in chat and channels, and in chat reactions, channels or live meetings.

There are also animations for some of the emojis, to access the new emojis, just head over to the Microsoft Teams settings about the public preview.

IT admins may need to enable preview features, but once enabled, 3D emojis will appear in Microsoft Teams across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, and all supported web browsers
